In Technological and applied studies (TAS), students develop knowledge, understanding and skills through a design and production process using a range of tools, materials and techniques in theory and practical lessons.
Stages 4 and 5
The study of Technologies is mandatory for all students in Year 7 and 8, and engages students in design and production activities as they develop solutions to identified needs and opportunities. Through the practical application of knowledge and understanding they learn about Agriculture and Food Technologies, Digital Technologies, Engineered Systems and Material Technologies.
Students can also select from a range of elective TAS courses in Years 8, 9 and 10 including Food Technology, Enterprise Computing and Textiles Technology.
The continuum of technology learning is based on students becoming increasingly sophisticated in their ability to apply knowledge, skills and understanding to design and produce solutions.
Stage 6
Courses offered in Years 11 and 12 include Food Technology, Enterprise Computing and Textiles and Design.
Our annual Inspired evening takes place at the end of term 2 and develops strong links with local businesses and industry representatives. During this event, Enterprise Computing, Textiles Technology and Textiles and Design students, showcase their work to the school community.
